Your Mental Game

Great mental game at camp with strong confidence, energy, and a clear team-first attitude. To match an ideal shooting guard, you need to make reads faster with the ball. Practice late-clock decision drills and pick one quick go-to move you can commit to under pressure. Also lead more on defense by talking and pointing out screens, and use a deep breath to reset after a mistake.
Your Physical Game

Work on your top speed and explosiveness with short sprint repeats and hill runs two times a week. Do cone drills and quick first-step reps, and add a couple of quick jump drills to build burst. You have great endurance, balance, and strength. Use that to run the floor hard, fight through screens, and finish at the rim.
Your Technical Game

Great season so far; your footwork, passing, finishing, defense, and rebounding are real strengths. You move well, find teammates, win 1v1s, and finish strong near the basket. Keep working on ball control when defenders are tight and on quick, consistent outside shots. Do tight-dribble and pressure drills every day, and hit quick catch-and-shoot and pull-up threes to make your scoring more reliable.
Your Tactical Game

Work on defensive awareness and clearer on-court calls, especially on switches and help defense. Can you use your great vision and game read to point out who to guard and when to rotate? Call screens early, step to the cutter, and close out under control so you don't get beat. Keep using your spacing and timing to make open shots for you and your teammates.
What Coach Parker Says About You
I watched James at camp — he’s an exceptionally coachable shooting guard who asked good questions and clearly enjoys the learning process. In drills he was constantly checking spacing and court positioning, using his court vision to create passing lanes and deliver accurate passes. Off the bounce he showed a strong triple-threat, quick first step and the footwork to finish at the rim with either hand while absorbing contact. Defensively he’s active, stays on balance, boxes out, reads the play to grab rebounds and communicates to organize teammates on both ends. He also handled the increased physicality and pace of camp well, staying disciplined in position and keeping his energy late into sessions. If you need a guard who brings competitiveness, quick thought-speed, and a true team-first approach, James will add immediate value to a college program.
